A note on series of hyperbolic functions

Abstract

By means of an elementary re-summation any convergent hyperbolic series can be associated with one of more `alleles', i.e. similar series which has the same value. A number of examples are treated here, most of which stem from Fourier series for elliptic functions introduced by K. Jacobi.
